Mr E. Guimbeau (First Member for Curepipe & Midlands) asked the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications whether, in regard to the advisers and/or persons appointed on contract, either on a full-time or part-time basis, at the Prime Minister’s Office, he will state -
(a) their names,
(b) their qualifications,
(c) the capacity in which they are appointed,
(d) their terms and conditions of appointment, including the salaries and any other allowances drawn, if any, since assuming office to-date,
(e) the number of official missions undertaken by each one of them to date, if any, and the per diem allowances drawn, and
(f) make and model of the car put at their disposal, if any.

The Acting Prime Minister: Mr Speaker Sir, following the assumption of office of the Government in May last, the policy and procedures relating to the contractual employment of advisers and other categories of persons both in the Prime Minister’s Office and other Ministries are being reviewed in regard to -
(i) length of tenure;
(ii) terms and conditions, and
(iii) the number required.
Once the review exercise has been completed and contractual employees are in post, the list will be laid.
